Acmena smithii “Cherry Surprise” is a lilly pilly that is a compact, small shrub with bright red new foliage growth which matures to deep green. It grows to 3 m high by 1.5 m wide, and can be pruned to a smaller size. It can be grown in a wide range of soils, but prefers a moist well drained soil in a sunny to semi shaded position. Rarely troubled by pests or diseases, is psyllid resistant.
